The dried root is commonly used to create extracts, tinctures, powders and granules to encapsulate its therapeutic benefits. Atractylodes are well documented in classical medical texts. The first mention of Atractylodes was made as early as the Han Dynasty in the classical text, Shennong Ben Cao Jing (Classic of the Materia Medica of the Divine Husbandman).
